Work on Dikowita fishery harbour begins in February

Construction activities on the fishery harbour in Dikowita will commence in February, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Ministry sources said.

This project will be the largest fishery harbour in the country with sophisticated facilities to sustain the fisheries industry in the country.

The expenditure for this construction has been estimated at Rs. 8,500 million, 38 percent of which will be a grant given by the Royal Netherlands Government. The balance will be met from local financial sources.

Dikowita fisheries harbour will provide adequate anchor facilities to outboard engine fishing boats through the establishment of 11 jetties.
