Norwegians ask Obama to end Cuban blockade
Norway: The end of the blockade on Cuba and the release of five Cuban
anti-terrorist fighters will be demanded by solidarity organizations of
the island during President Barack Obama's visit to Oslo to receive the
Nobel Prize, the Organizing Committee reported on Wednesday.
A rally was scheduled to take place yesterday after a Miami Court
revealed the re-sentence of three of The Cuban Five, as they are
universally known. They are currently serving harsh sentences in US
jails, victims of a legal trial due to the political dispute among
Governments.
Peaceful, solidarity, political and renowned fighters like Cindy
Sheehan, will attend the demonstration for peace and against war and
nuclear weapons, Ingeborg Steinholt, one of the organizers, stated.
Rhe participants will also reject the granting of Nobel Prize to the
US President.
The Association of Friendship with Cuba in Norway, the Norwegian
Communist Party and its Youth Organization, the Red Party and its Youth,
and the powerful Workers' Central Union of the Oslo region, a force with
more than 125 workers' unions, are among the organizations convened for
the rally. Oslo, Prensa Latina |
