Kirindiwela Central cricketers in form

Kirindiwela Central College can be proud of the fact that it has produced many talented cricketers including Sri Lanka pace bowler Nuwan Kulasekera. Who had his early schooling there.

This season, the under-13 team remained unbeaten with skipper Shane Nallawangsa becoming the leading batsman in the district. He scored two centuries and one half centuries. Strengthening Kirindiwela u-15 XI's batting there were S.A. Udaya, S.A. Namila and K.S.P. Dilan while the bowling was spearheaded by vice captain R.A.S. Sheyad who impressed with his off spin. Paceman S.M. Akila was also there to strengthen the bowling department.

The under-15 side is led by I.D Rawindu, a left arm opening bowler and safe middle order batsman while his pace bowling partner is Sheham Akila. The middle order is further strengthened by Isuru Athukorala.

The under-19 XI has also done as they entered the third round this season while opening bowler Chndana Jayasanka is tipped to make it to the District XI in recognition of his performances.

Pawan Hasitha and Viram Jamith add solidity to the middle order while the key bowlers are off spinners. The pace bowling department is led by Nalaka. The first XI is led by S.M. Maura Nadeeshan who has captured 50 wickets in just six matches and he also made it to the district XI. Akila Ranasinghe, the leading scorer made an unbeaten 186 in a one-day match against Yakkala Anura M.V. Minhara strengthens the middle order. The vice captain is Pradeep Nishantha who is a dependable right arm off spinner. The allrounders are Eranda Lahiru, Charitha Dissanayake, Tharindu Prishan and Geeth Dissanayake. The side is coached by Indika Dias while the master-in-charge is Gamini Athukorala. Their Principal Kithsiri Ranasinghe is doing a great job, going them all the support they need..

But despite their creditable performances the school lacks in terms of equipment and ground facilities. They don't have a side wicket and is badly in need of more cricketing year.
