Fonseka dispatched Lankan Army Commandos for son-in-law's security
in US
The Asian Tribune website said yesterday Sarath Fonseka had sent four
Army Special Force Commandos to provide security for his arms dealer
son-in-law in Oklahoma, USA.
These Special Force Commandos were sent to USA last month and they
are living in USA and serving as security personnel for Fonseka's
son-in-law Dhanuna Tilakaratne, the website said.
The Asian Tribune also pointed out that by sending Army Special Force
Commandos to provide security for his arms supplier son-in-law, Fonseka
had misused his office as Army Commander. The Sri Lanka Army had already
spent Rs. 180 million to send these Special Force men for security to
the son-in-law who lives at 1745, Gold Drive, Edmond, Oklahoma.
Some paparazzi who had recently gone to photograph Tilakaratne's
residence had debarred them from photographing the house.
Therefore they had been curious about how a HIB S visa holder was
able to have Commandos providing security to him.
It was the paparazzi who had later investigated to find out details
of the Commandos, the website said.
The Army Commandos were also provided a house and a vehicle to
provide under cover security to Tilakaratne when he moves about. How
will the Sri Lanka Army be able to get the refund of Rs 180 million, the
website queried.
The website also said according to Ranil Wickremesinghe, Mangala
Samaraweera and Mano Ganeshan had introduced Fonseka as a candidate who
will fight bribery and corruption. |
