Self-employment seminar for plantation youths

A three-day self-employment seminar for plantation youth to upgrade their living standard was initiated yesterday by the Youth Empowerment and Social Economic Development Ministry.

Saumya Moorthi Thondaman Foundation Nawashakthi Project is organizing the seminar under the patronage of Minister Arumugam Thondaman at Kotagala Congress Labour Foundation Auditorium. The Nawashakthi self-employment training is provided to the plantation youth under the Prajashakthi Institution in the plantation areas by the chief trainer and consultant of the Saumya Moorthy Thondaman Memorial Foundation Rupa Ram Maganthi of India to conduct the self-employment training.

Nearly 150 youth who participated at the first phase in the seminar will be selected in accordance with their capabilities in the employment field in which they would be able to do their industrial work at the end of the training.
