Land allocated to set up Amaradeva Foundation

A plot of land at D.M. Kolambage Mawatha, Kirulapona has been
allocated to establish the Amaradewa Foundation to mark the services of
veteran musician W.D. Amaradeva to enrich Lankan music.
Media and Information Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa told the
press yesterday that the decision was reached by the Cabinet in response
to a Cabinet paper submitted by Urban Development and Sacred Area
Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
He said Cabinet had decided to allocate Rs 104 million and Rs 17
million for the establishment of two buildings for the Department of
Motor Traffic at Kandy and Kegalle. The Cabinet papers were submitted by
Minister Dullas Alahapperuma. |
