Chathurika of Union Assurance awarded best Actuarial Student

Chathurika Opatha of Union Assurance PLC was awarded the A S Mani Memorial Gold Award for the Best Actuarial Student of Sri Lanka by the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute. This is one of the most prestigious awards for outstanding performance in the field of Actuarial Studies in Sri Lanka. The presentation was made at the recently concluded National Insurance Congress by Trade, Marketing Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs Minister Bandula Gunawardena.

Chathurika Opatha joined Union Assurance PLC as a Management Trainee in 2006, after graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in Bachelor of Science offering Finance, Business and Computational Mathematics as special subjects from University of Colombo in 2006. She is presently an Assistant Manager in the Actuarial Division.
