African, Asian, LatAm leaders in Cuba
CUBA: Three Presidents and two Prime Ministers from Asia, Africa and
a Vice President from Latin America met in Cuba this week to strengthen
their mutual links.
South African Foreign Affairs Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and
Libyan Foreign Affairs Vice Minister Ahmed S. Fituri, who signed
agreements regarding trade, health and construction, were part of the
group of developing countries’ leaders in Cuba.
Heads of State from Seychelles James Alix Michel, Uganda Yoweri
Kaguta Museveni, and Tanzania Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete met separately with
Cuban President Raul Castro and they assessed their links in all
spheres.
Raul Castro also received Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong
and Chief of the South African diplomatic corps while Cuban Vice
President Jos‚ Ram˘n Machado Ventura met Prime Minister of Tonga Feleti
Vakauta Sevele.
Salvadoran Vice President Salvador S nchez, who completes the group
of high officials, came on a work visit.
