Waidyatilaka excels at ITO exam

P.H.D. Waidyatilaka, Vice President of Athletics Association of Sri Lanka has once again brought honour and glory to Sri Lanka by coming first in Asia in the International Technical Officials (ITO) Examination held by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) to appoint the panel of ITOs for the period 2010-2013.

Waidyatilaka achieved this feat at all three ITO examinations held to date. The first and second examinations were held in 2001 and 2005 respectively.

It will be recalled that Waidya was the sole ITO from Asia to officiate at the Beijing Olympic Games 2008. He has officiated in the same capacity in all the major events including World Championship, World Cup and Commonwealth Games. Also as Technical Delegate at Shanghai Golden Grand Prix in 2008 and 2009.
