Naval troops recover arms haul

Acting on information received, Intelligence Team (East) was able to recover a large quantity of arms, ammunition and mines in two separate search operations. The recovered cache of war like items were found from the general area of Wellamulli Vaikal in Mullaitivu on November 28 and from the general area of Puthukudiruppu East in Iranamadu on November 29.

The following items were recovered from Wellamulli Vaikal.

MPMG Weapon 01, MPMG 25 Links 16, T 81 Weapons 02, Claymore Mine (10kgs) (i) 01, Claymore Mine (05 kgs) 01, Claymore Mine (03 kgs) 01, C-4 Explosives 03 kgs, 12.7x108 mm Ammunition 400 nos, 7.62x54 mm Ammunition 3100 nos, 7.62x39 mm Ammunition 2250 nos, LTTE Pouches 05, LTTE pack 01, MPMG Ammo Box (Empty) 01, Comset Power Supply Unit 01, Claymore Remote Control Unit 01.

Claymore Mines 120, Sea mine (30kg) 01, Anti Vehicle Pressure Mine (25 kg) 01, Anti Vehicle Pressure Mines (20kg) 02, LTTE Smoke Grenades 02, Claymore Receivers 37, Thamilan Grenades 08.
