Around 10,000 students housed in welfare villages have applied to sit
the GCE (O/L). A large number of applicants have been resettled by now.
Therefore the Examination Department will issue admissions for
students in welfare villages and those who have been resettled after
receiving the report which has been asked for from the Zonal Education
Directors in these areas.
In accordance with the report special examination centres will be set
up at the welfare villages and newly resettled areas.
Meanwhile the Education Ministry will discuss with the Defence
Ministry regarding the resettlement program to minimise inconvenience to
candidates.
