Indramalee Cooray scrabble champ
The Sri Lanka Association of Senior Citizens (Colombo Branch)
concluded their annual All Island Scrabble tournament recently at the
Hilton Hotel.
The contest was in two categories set out to those playing
professional scrabble in ‘A’ and others who prefer the Oxford Dictionary
in ‘B’. Over 60 players took part in the two divisions playing five
games of one hour each.
Indramalee Cooray emerged champion in the ‘A’ section with five wins.
She also clinched the highest number of bonus words awarded. Shaila
Amalean was runner-up.
S. Rajendran was the winner in group ‘B’ and Dr. T. Cumarasamy was
runner-up.
Anil Wickremasinghe and K. Kulatunga won the highest game score and
highest word score awards respectively.
Dr. Lalantha Amarasinghe, President of the Scrabble League gave away
the trophies.
