Adding colour to character

Roger and Dinesha

Producer Dinesha Jayathunga and director Dhammika Peries have come together to launch a new teledrama project titled Charithayaka Paata Denna (Adding Colour to Character). The muhurath ceremony of the event took shape at the Janakala Center, Battaramulla, last week.

The story revolves around Jayantha Kotuwella, an experienced filmmaker. He possesses an undying love for cinema but is a shady character. He has a pretty, young wife named Dinu and a sweet little daughter named Natalie.

They have two servants, Mallika, whom Natalie refers to as ‘Mal Amma’, and Bennet.

Dinu comes from a wealthy family. Her brother lives abroad and her mother, Samadhara, runs the family business after her husband had passed away. After Dinu got married she tries to make her take over the business.

Though Jayantha loves his family he is unable to express his feelings. He keeps them trapped within him. He is rarely able to spare time for his loved ones as he has to take part in the shooting and editing sessions for his creations.

One day they were invited to a party. Jayantha was unable to make it as he had to engage in shooting so Dinu decides to go instead without realizing that her actions will result in shattering their family life.
