The senior Lecturer to Chinese language at the University of
Kalaaniya Ven. Nadalagamuve Dhammananda thera has composed and
introduced three Chinese Language learning books to the students of
Advance Level standard with Sinhala and Tamil references named "Modern
Chinese Culture and Lifestyle", "Readings from advanced Chinese Texts"
and the "Chinese vocabulary" respectively. "The Chinese vocabulary" is a
co-composition done with Mekala Piyumali Kuruwita and Umangee
Chandrakumara
de Silva and, ther Tamil translations of all these three books has been
prepared by Mallika Narayan. These three books will be attached to the
newly reformed A/L syllabus from year 2011. Ven Dhammananda Thera said
that these three books will improve the basic Chinese language skills of
the A/L students by improving their knowledge with a brief of Chinese
Culture, Literature and common life style.
'Learning English Book II' by professor D. C. R. A. Gunethilake and
the University English Instructor Mona Gunaratne, the second book of a
series of graded English language teaching core text books was delivered
to the Sri Lankan English teaching and learning audience recently. This
book concludes a absolute range of teaching strategies from reading
passages to pair and group work, to poems, crossword puzzles, jingles
and illustrations with various grammatical and terminological
explanations. The exercise given below in every lesson after were keenly
composed and introduced in such a simple manner that even the beginners
of English language manage to work with. The relevant schematized
vocabularies and the grammatical representations given to each every
text are very much helpful. Additionally, the images and the tables of
comparison are highly impressive and logical with the contexts of the
given texts.
Finally, the selected themes of those texts covers a variety of
subject matters from day to day dialogues, tiny events of life to the
common expressions of human emotions are thoroughly influential for the
learners of this book. |
