Leighton Park in 66-56 win

'Lets give Blood' was heard around both benches at the BATTLE FOR THE
BALL - basketball BIG MATCH -between Leighton Park International school
and Belvoir College International.
The two schools waited for this annual encounter which was played
with great gusto at the MCA basketball court on Saturday. Leighton Park
proved to be the stronger team with their scoring machine Shamika
stationed under the basket for almost the entire match and won by 66
points to 56.
Both teams missed many shots and the first basket was scored by
Leighton Park after five minutes into the game.
Kushan Kalubovila of Belvoir College was judged the Most Valuable
Player while Frank Dicken of Leighton Park was picked as the Best
Defensive Player and Shamika Dissanayake of Leighton Park was the Best
Offensive Player.
Leighton Park 66 beat Belvoir College 56.
For the winners Shamika (32), Frank (11), Novak (7) top scored while
for the losers Nadeeshan (20), Kushan (18), Ishak (11) excelled. |
