SLBA signs MoUs
The Sri Lanka Banks’ Association (SLBA) Chairman and Hatton National
Bank Managing Director R. Theagarajah entered into a Memorandum of
Understanding with Asian Bankers’ Association (ABA) as well as the
Bankers Association of the Republic of China (BAROC).
The ABA Chairperson Susan S. Chang signed the MoU on behalf of the
two institutions.
The ABA currently has a membership of over 100 of the leading banks
from 23 countries in the Asia Pacific region. Theagarajah is also the
Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ABA.
Under this MoU the three associations will endeavour to promote
mutual exchange of information and co-operation including analysis of
financial potential and identify all possibilities and opportunities for
Sri Lanka and member countries of the ABA, to realize joint projects.
In addition, co-operation in the area of training of officers through
joint forums, workshops, conferences and seminars will be considered. |
