SLFP National Convention on Nov 15

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party will hold its National Convention on
November 15, Sunday at the Khettarama Grounds, Colombo under the
chairmanship of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. This year’s convention will
be held on a grand scale with the participation of about 100,000 party
members from all districts of the country including the North and East,
party sources said.
Representatives of all constituent political parties have also been
invited for the convention and there is great enthusiasm among the party
cadres and activists.
Party cadres from the grass roots level upwards are working
enthusiasticly for this National Convention since terrorism which
plagued the country for 30 years was defeated under the leadership of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa, sources said.
All arrangements have been made to hold the convention with the
participation of a massive crowd expected at the event led by district
and electoral organizers of the SLFP..
According to SLFP sources, the President will announce at the
convention the dates of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections and
which of these would be held first and a number of important resolutions
will also be moved. |
