CMI evening meeting:
'New horizons for Sri Lankan economy'
The CMI evening meeting titled "New Horizons for the Sri Lankan
Economy" will be an evening presentation at Galle Face Hotel and will be
open to members of CMI and their guests.
The Secretary to the Treasury Dr.P.B. Jayasundera will speak on the
opportunities that will become available for Sri Lankans to broaden the
horizons of the economy, at a meeting arranged by the Sri Lanka Branch
of the Chartered Management Institute UK, (CMI) on November 10 at the
Galle Face Hotel.
Sri Lanka had to suffer the ruthless atrocities of the most brutal
terrorist outfit the world has known, for the past three decades and it
required the concerted effort of our valiant soldiers to overcome this
horrendous problem.
With that dark period of terror now firmly behind us, it is time for
all of us, to contribute towards building a better country for our
future generations to live in peace and harmony with economic
prosperity.
For the first time in almost 30 years, the country is free from the
risk of war and i s ready to take off and gain from the advantage of the
revival of the global economy with the foundation for infrastructure
development already having been laid even while the war was on.
With vast areas of land that was not even approachable for well over
two decades, now being available for development activities, Sri Lanka
can look forward to expanding her horizons to become a major economic
force in the region. |
