Kandy Cricket Club Scored an easy nine wicket win over Matale Cricket Club in their Sri Lanka Cricket's Division 1 inter club limited over cricket tournament match played at university grounds Peradeniya on Wednesday.

Matale CC winning the toss and electing to bat first turned out to be a disaster as wickets fell at regular intervals before they were dismissed for a paltry 113 in 39.4 overs.

Right arm leg spinner Ranga Lihindapita in a sustained spell captured 5 for 21 and he was supported by off spinners Diliepa Wanasinghe who took 2 for 12 and Suresh Peiris 2 for 18.

Kandy Cricket Club in their turn at the wickets found no terrors in Matale's bowling and their openers Muditha Wijekoon 70 and Amith Jayaratne 40 not out put on 110 before being separated making victory a mere formality.

Matale CC 113 in 39.4 overs (Rajitha Ranaweera 50, Damith Rangana 15, Suresh Peiris 2 for 18, Diliepa Wanasinghe 2 for 12). Kandy CC 114 for 1 in 19 overs (Muditha Wijekoon 70, Amith Jayaratne 40 not out).
