Green X tag rugby champs

The Green X team won the Saranga Warnasuriya Memorial Tag Rugby championship for the second consecutive year beating Isipathana Police by 10 points at Havelock Park, last Sunday.

Twenty teams participated in the tournament organized by the Group of 2002 of Isipatana College in memory of Saranga Warnasuriya who lost his life while being a member of the College rugby team.

One unique experience was the ex-great green legends playing a match against the energetic present boys' team. Several national players in the calibre of Sajith Mallikaarachchi, Shammi Nawaz and Anuranga Walpola were seen in action.

'Triple Champions' won the Plate championship and Group of 93 and 94 won the Bowl title. The best player of the tournament was Srinath Suriyabandara.
