Kalutara Youth awards festival

The Kalutara District Youth Awards Festival will be held at the Bandaragama Maithree auditorium today with Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka as the chief guest. The event will be held under the auspices of the National Youth Services Council.

Several competitions for youth were held by the NYSC in the district. Winners of prose, verse and short story literary competition, folk song recitals, Kandyan, Sabaragamuwa and Low Country dancing, oriental and western music were selected and they will receive awards.

Youth Affairs Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Plantation Infrastructure and Nation Building Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena, SLFP organizer Tudor Dayaratna and NYSC Director General Bhashvara S. Gunaratna will participate , an NYSC official said.
