Impetus to engineering sector:

Key construction agreement signed

The State Engineering Corporation has signed an agreement with the Majulia YWC Builders Organization Malaysia, to upgrade local and international construction projects in the country.

The international construction agreement was signed recently by State Engineering Corporation Acting Chairman, Thinsula Liyanage with Majulia YWC Organization Managing Director, Iep Lung in the presence of Construction and Engineering Services Minister, Rajitha Senaratne.

For international construction projects, there was a big bond to be paid and there was quite a high amount.

By signing this agreement, for the up coming international construction projects, the big bond facilities are provided by the Majulia YWC organization and the entire amount is settled by the Majulia organization.

It would be a great advantage and a saving for our construction industry and this would lead to obtain more international construction projects for the country, said an official of the Construction and Engineering Ministry.

“The Majulia YWC Organization has agreed to provide the technical and the monitery support to modify the infrastructure facilities of the construction industry in the country and also agreed to facilitate the technical knowledge to modify the techniques we are using in international construction projects,” said the Official.

According to the agreement, the Majulia YWC Builders Organization will facilitate to develop any infrastructure facility in the country and also the agreement will open a path to gain international knowledge and new technology in the construction industry in the country, he said.

“This is the first time a State Corporation has signed an international investment agreement and under this, the Majulia YWC Organization will provide monitory facilities for the State Engineering Corporation to start construction projects in the international market.

The approved housing construction projects in Lidia, Maldives, and some of the Middle East countries will be started soon by the State Engineering Corporation under the provisions of the agreement,” he said.
