War orphaned in House

Two hundred and one war orphaned children from Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi visited Parliament yesterday as a part of their re-integration into society after the end of the war.

Justice Minister V. Puththrasigamany made the announcement to Parliament after the children took their seats in the public gallery.

Minister Puththrasigamany said the students had come from Cheddikulam where they are being put through rehabilitation programs conducted by the Government. At the end of his speech, the students were welcomed by MPs who were present in the Chamber while they too joined in clapping.
