Apey Lokaya for students' skills and thoughts
In this society with the developing technology, children haven't
enough time to devote their mind and skills to the Arts. Most of
students don't like to write poems, essays or do things like paintings.
This is simply because of the artificial system called competition is
trying to make them as robots.

But every human should understand about one thing. The meaning of Art
is only a step to improve your practical knowledge, because it is a good
path to build your self with better human beings.
That's why a crew of young people started a great step for the future
children called Apey Lokaya. It is a Magazine for students to improve
their poems, essays and art skills. And the mission of Apey Lokaya is to
be a better place to the pupil's literature skills and thoughts. This is
a free issuing half yearly Magazine.
The primus issue of Apey Lokaya was launched on World Children's Day
at Colombo and Anuradhapura. It was launched to the Colombo Provincial
Head of O.M.I. Rev. Fr. Clement Waidyasekara, Rev. Bishop Norbert
Andradi (O.M.I.) (Anuradhapura), Rev. Bishop Marius Peiris (Colombo) and
Rev. Fr. Jude Sriyananda. It's being distributed to all districts,
selected schools, temples and churches. There are no language or race
barriers in Apey Lokaya and it's also open to every Sri Lankan children.
The team of Apey Lokaya has eight members consisting Ranshan,
Ganishka, Senashi, Sameera, Gayan, Nimalsha, Shavindra and Chamara. Rev.
Fr. Lal Fernando and teacher Ravindra Antony Fernando are their guides.
As a result of the atmosphere in this culture, children must be
brought up with good human beings. So Apey Lokaya will be a useful help
to enhance their skills and abilities. Any student can join it, by
sending their creations to; The Editor-Shaminda Ranshan, No.62,

They invite the youth to send them poems, letters, arts and other
creations. Students should send their creations with the certification
of their school principal/teacher before the end of this year. |
