Over 100 drivers and riders to open Mirigama Super Race Track

The Mirigama Super Race Track will gets it baptismal tomorrow when the Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club conducts the first race meet on this newly constructed track, The organisers have made arrangements to conduct fourteen events (7 cars and 7 motorcycles) on this day on different categories.

Over 100 vehicles (60 bikes and 40 cars) will be seen in action tomorrow. All leading drivers and riders competing on tarmac have entered the fray.

The leading drivers who have confirmed participation are young Pasindu Peiris, Upulwan Serasinghe, Dhammika Peiris, Ashan De Silva, U.C. Perera, Ajith Keerthi and Dinesh Senanayake.

While riders who will thrill the spectators on this day are Maduranga Caldera, Shane Gunewardena, Prabath Pieris and Ramal Pathiratne. These riders will be challenged by young riders who are expected to run on this new track.

The organisers along with proprietor of the track Jayantha Perera are making elaborate arrangements to make this inaugural meet a great success for drivers, riders and the motor racing fans.

The event to be worked off are bike:

Group O - Standard 125 cc (2 stroke, 4 stroke) 250 cc (4 stroke).

Group P - Standard Modified 125 cc (2 stroke)

Group R - Racing upto 125 cc.

Group Super Motard up to 250 cc and 450 cc.

Motor Cars, Group / SLN 12 kg /HP:

10-12 kg/HP

Nissan March 1000 cc

Mini 7 upto 1000 cc

Group SL-A Modified cars upto 1050 cc
