Rasendra, Methsarani win squash titles

Rasendra Rajarathne and K.A.M. Methsarani won the under 13 boys and girls singles titles at 20th Junior National Squash Championships at the Gymkhana Club Squash complex recently. Rasendra Rajarathne defeated K. Viduranga Udantha and K.A.M. Methsarani beat Dinithi Nanayakkara in this tournament

The most Improved Boy's Player award was won by Binura Jayasuriya (Royal College, Colombo) for his best performances in both the Under 17 & 19 events.

While Gayara Jayasuriya (Vishaka Vidyalaya, Colombo) received the same award in the Under 17 and Under 15 events.

Sharya Guruge playing in the girls under 19 won the Nirasha Guruge Trophy.

Navin Piyatissa Challenge Trophy was awarded to the winner of the Boy's U 19 event at Junior Nationals, which was presented to Gihan Suwaris.

Major General Palitha Fernando, Vice President, National Olympic Committee and President Amateur Athletics Association, Susantha Gunawardene, Managing Director of 'Ceylon Biscuits Limited, the Sponsor of 20th Junior National Squash Championships, Nandana Wickramage Marketing Director of 'Ceylon Biscuits Limited, Shammi Silva, Chairman, Gymkhana Club, Oliver Guruge, President, Sri Lanka Squash Federation and Members of the Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Squash Federation graced the occasion.

Final Results: Boy's u 9: Druvinka Perera beat Ravin Nanayakkara.

Boy's u 11: K. Viduranga Udantha beat M.W.M Shamil.

Girl's u 11: Daduni Gunawardene beat Kasuni Gunawardene.

Boy's u 13: Rasendra Rajaratne beat K. Viduranga Udantha.

Girl's u 13: K.A.M Methsarani beat Dinithi Nanayakkara.

Boy's u 15: H.R.S. Laksiri beat Udantha Hewage.

Girl's u 15: Gayara Jayasuriya beat Dulakshi Elikewela.

Boy's u 17: Gihan Suwaris beat Binura Jayasuriya.

Girl's u 17: Nadindi Udangawa beat Kavini Amerasekera.

Boy's u 19: Gihan Suwaris beat Binura Jayasuriya.

Girl's u 19: Sharya Guruge beat Damindhi Udangawa.
