Two Youth Corp centres in NP

Youth Affairs Ministry will establish two Youth Corp centres in the Northern Province at a cost of Rs. 70 million.

Youth Affairs Ministry Secretary S. Wirithamulla said "The main purpose of establishing these centres is to empower youth in the Northern Province to cater to the demand of both local and foreign job market.

"We first have to change their attitudes. We should not isolate them from society. They should have the right to do a good job. But before that we have to train and guide them to be able to successfully meet the challenges and continue in their job."

"These youth corp centres will provide language efficiency, career guidance and personality development. These centres will have facilities for 500 students."
