MCCIA delegation to strengthen ties
A high profile six-member delegation from the Mahratta Chamber of
Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) is now in Sri Lanka. The
delegation will be here till October 4. The delegation is led by the
Chamber's President Mukesh Malhotra, who is also the Managing Director-Weikfield
Products Co. (I) Ltd.
The objective of the delegation is to develop and strengthen ties
between Sri Lanka and the Pune region in India, a leading hub of Indian
Automotive and IT Industry.
During the visit, the delegation will also sign an MoU with the
FCCISL (Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Sri Lanka) on
mutual cooperation.
It will also hold discussions with the FCCISL for promotion of trade
and investments.
The delegation members also plan to have one-on-one meetings with
their counterparts in the Sri Lankan business community.
MCCIA is a leading Regional Chamber from Pune, Maharashtra, India and
represents industries from Pune within Maharashtra in particular and
India in general.
It was set up in 1934 to enhance entrepreneurship in Maharashtra,
with a vision to facilitate the transformation of Pune as a premier
global destination for industry, trade, commerce and agriculture. The
Chamber has more than 2,800 members from a cross-section of industry and
business that includes leading international corporate, such as Bajaj
Auto, Bharat Forge, Kirloskars, Cummins, Finolex and a host of other
large and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) companies as well as
professionals, agriculture and agri-business bodies and educational
