New night bus service from Central Bus Stand begins today

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) will begin a new night bus service from the Central Bus Stand, Pettah today to provide transport to working people especially women who leave their places of work in the night.

Accordingly, 21 buses will begin the service today at 10 p.m. from the Central Bus Stand in Pettah to 21 places across the country.

A spokesman for the SLTB told the Daily News that most people were scared to come to Colombo and other busy towns at night mainly due to the fear of terrorism. But, this fear has been eliminated with the liberation of the entire country from the clutches of terrorism.
