Free the Cuban Five, say Cubans in Sri Lanka
Cubans in Sri Lanka - workers, internationalist workers and residents
met during the weekend and called upon the US Government to pay
attention to the millions of persons from all continents that demand
justice for the five Cubans imprisoned unjustly for 11 years in US
prisons. A new international campaign to demand justice for Gerardo,
Antonio, Ramon, Fernando and Rene started on September 12, the 11th
anniversary of their arrest.
“We share with their relatives: mothers, fathers, wives the pain of
the injustice that separates them from their loved ones but particularly
with the wives of Gerardo and Rene, that have not seen them for eleven
years because the US authorities have denied them the visas to visit
their husbands,” a statement issued by the above group said.
It further said: “We want the freedom of the Cuban Five and we will
demand it everyway possible. We call all our friends in Sri Lanka to
support our struggle, which is for justice and truth. “Free Gerardo,
Antonio, Ramon, Fernando and Rene.” |
