National Freedom Front warns of conspiracy

The National Freedom Front yesterday warned of a conspiracy against the country after terrorism was eradicated in Sri Lanka.

According to NFF Parliamentarian Jayantha Samaraweera, the western allies led by the United States and Britain are engaged in a dirty game of intervening in the country’s internal affairs after the war on terrorism was over.

Addressing a press briefing in Battaramulla he said the United States will resort to many other means to meddle with Sri Lanka’s affairs after terrorism was eradicated in Sri Lanka. He said the US is making an attempt to implement their policies in Sri Lanka by any means.

Samaraweera said the international community has launched a massive campaign against Sri Lanka using a media and the Channel 04 fiasco is a part of it.

The Parliamentarian stressed that Norwegian Minister and one time peace envoy for Sri Lanka Erick Solheim is behind this dirty game with the sole objective of bringing the country into disrepute. ”The UNP and the JVP are making use of displaced people who are living in welfare camps to gain political mileage.

The Government took more than a year to resettle people who were displaced by the tsunami in the Western and Southern Provinces.
