Janashakthi turns 15

Janashakthi Insurance PLC celebrates its 15th anniversary today with major expansions in the North and the East and providing employment to over 1,000 youth in those two provinces.

In line with President Mahinda Rajapaksa's Uthuru Vasanthaya vision to bring the North and the East into mainstream economic activity, Janashakthi last weekend opened two new offices in Chavakachcheri and Chunnakam.

The two new offices will generate employment to nearly 200 persons and thus total about 1,000 in the entire North and East with further expansion.

These branches are now fully geared to take Janashakthi's products and services to the people of the North and the East and enable them to experience the identical benefits enjoyed by their fellow countrymen.

Janashakthi Insurance PLC Managing Director Prakash Schaffter said, "We are happy with the prospect of expanding in the North and the East to celebrate our 15th anniversary.

This is, part of a long term plan to leverage from our existing branches in the future and venture even further.

The benefits of insurance are something which should touch the lives of everyone, irrespective of caste and creed and this is precisely what we are doing."

Janashakthi currently has over 100 branches islandwide. With offices in Batticaloa, Kalmunai, Akkaraipattu, Jaffna, Nelliyadi, Kantalai, Trincomalee, Mannar, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi and more in the pipeline, the Company is committed to further strengthening its presence in the North and the East.


Pan Asia Bank goes North

Pan Asia Bank opened its first branch in the Northern Province in Vavuniya with Additional District Secretary N. Thirugnasambandun representing District Secretary of Vavuniya P.M. Charles as the chief guest. Member of Parliament for Wanni District, Kishore Sivananthan, Vavuniya Urban Council Chairman S.N.G. Nathan and Vavuniya District Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture President S. Nagarajah were the guests of honour. The Vavuniya branch is the 34th branch of Pan Asia's growing network of branches.

Pan Asia Chairman, A. G. Weerasinghe said that Pan Asia has plans to expand its branch network in the North of Sri Lanka in support of Government's 'Uthuru Wasanthaya' development program and Vavuniya was the first step. He also stressed the important role the rural economy plays in the development of the national economy and the country.

Amaya Resorts joins Star Points Network

Amaya Resorts joined the Star Points Network. This partnership will enable Dialog Mobile subscribers to earn and burn Star Points whenever they transact at Amaya Resorts and Spas. These include Amaya Lake Dambulla, Amaya Hills Kandy and Amaya Reef Hikkaduwa.
