Honduran protests continue on day 67

Honduras: Honduran people’s aspirations have been increasing, as well as the y have extended their peaceful resistance against the June 28 military coup, after 67 consecutive days of protests.

That fact could be perceived in the speeches by the movement’s leaders during a rally in the capital. They set the goal on the definitive and real independence of the country.

Statements by Juan Barahona, Israel Salinas, Rassel Tome, and Rafael Alegria, among others, were given an ovation by the crowd at the capital’s central park.

The activity took place at the equestrian statute of National Hero Francisco Morazan, at the beginning of the month of the homeland, the independence of which will reach its 188 anniversary on September 15. The Front will hold a national assembly on Sunday, to analyze strategies and strengthen structures created as they have been going, since the beginning of the military coup.
