Honduran protests continue on day 67
Honduras: Honduran people’s aspirations have been increasing, as well
as the y have extended their peaceful resistance against the June 28
military coup, after 67 consecutive days of protests.
That fact could be perceived in the speeches by the movement’s
leaders during a rally in the capital. They set the goal on the
definitive and real independence of the country.
Statements by Juan Barahona, Israel Salinas, Rassel Tome, and Rafael
Alegria, among others, were given an ovation by the crowd at the
capital’s central park.
The activity took place at the equestrian statute of National Hero
Francisco Morazan, at the beginning of the month of the homeland, the
independence of which will reach its 188 anniversary on September 15.
The Front will hold a national assembly on Sunday, to analyze strategies
and strengthen structures created as they have been going, since the
beginning of the military coup.
