Triad Young Spikes wins

The Young Spikes team from Triad won the Young Spikes Competition 2009, making them the first Sri Lankan team to participate in the Young Spikes Competition at the Spikes Asia Festival, which will be held in Singapore from September 16 - 18.

The winning Triad team

Spikes Asia is Asia's first ever advertising festival and aims at "celebrating and inspiring Asian creativity in advertising".

The Triad Team won this accolade for their innovative campaign idea centered around the introduction of "Radio Networking", a novel concept aimed at developing and retaining a loyal listener base for the sponsor Yes FM.

The competing teams comprised young advertisers from a variety of leading agencies such as Leo Burnett, JWT, Grant McCann Erickson, Words Advertising, Response Marketing and Triad.

The winning campaign by the Triad Team was strategy driven and an insight based communication that borrowed from the success of social networking to introduce radio networking as the next generation of radio.

The jury, headed by Russell Miranda, Executive Creative Director of Grant McCann Erickson, and supported by senior industry professionals, unanimously agreed that this campaign was the most strategically focused and creatively memorable, addressing the concerns raised in the brief to present a revolutionary proposition that will enhance the brand value while offering them an out-of-the-box business solution through a communications idea.

The winning team comprising Charith De Silva, Arrvinda Salwatura, Lanil Peiris and Madhu Hewakapuge will travel to Singapore to compete against some of the best young creative teams from all over Asia at the Young Spikes Competition.
