Seminar on quality assurance
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) will hold
a discussion on quality assurance on Audit quality monitoring towards
compliance with International Standards of Quality Control one (ISQC1).
This presentation would be the right opportunity for representatives
of accounting firms, practicing accountants of the audit faculty,
regulators and representatives of industry and financial groups to
broaden their spectrum of knowledge on the latest developments on
quality assurance which would be applicable in their respective fields
of work. Quality assurance can be identified as a vitally important
aspect of modern day professional services, and this presentation has
been organized with the prime aim of sharing the theoretical and
globally practiced methods on quality control with our local
professionals.
This presentation would articulate broadly the concept of ISQC1 its
local variations, recognizing significant audit quality risks and
deficiencies identifying and evaluating them with the knowledge of
facing them appropriately with an overview of global quality monitoring
programs. This presentation will be made by an international expert in
the field of quality assurance, Partner - Global Risk and Compliance at
KPMG International Tony Banton.
Prior to being appointed to his present designation Banton gained
extensive international experience by being the regional quality
performance liaison partner for KPMG's Europe, Middle East, Africa and
South Asia regions, and is rich with practical exposure in the field.
He is based in France and supervises a team in Toronto and spends
part of his time performing Global Compliance Reviews in KPMG member
firms.
After the presentation there would be a panel discussion to which
eminent personalities of ICASL would participate and would provide room
to discuss the roses and thorns of modern day issues pertaining to
quality assurance.
The presentation will be held on September 9 at the ICASL premises
and many finance professionals dealing with quality assurance services
are expected to attend the event.
