Bahrain donates 20 mts. of dates

Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director Y.L.M. Navavi said the Government of Bahrain had donated twenty metric tons of dates to be distributed among the Lankan Muslims during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Director said Bahrain Minister Sheick Khalifa Bin Salman Ali Khalifa visited Sri Lanka recently, Petroleum and Petroleum Resources Development Minister A.H.M. Fowzie had requested the prime minister to donate some quantity of Dates to Sri Lanka to be distributed during the months of Ramadan.

The Prime Minister soon after his return Bahrain had made arrangements to send 20 metric tons of dates showing the good relationship between Bahrain and Sri Lanka.

The Muslim religious and Cultural Affairs Department will distribute the dates among the Muslims through mosques.
