BoI approves Prism Group

International Investor says Sri Lanka has high growth potential with the return of peace:

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka granted investment approval to Prism Group Holdings (Private) Limited. Chairman/Director General Dhammika Perera signed the agreement on behalf of the BOI and presented the BOI Certificate of Registration to the investors.

The agreement worth an initial investment of US $ 150,000 was signed with Prism Group Holdings. The investment sponsored by Integrated Strategic Solutions, British Virgin Island will provide IT enabled services for local businesses. Prism Information Technology Services also has operations in Australia, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia. The company will set up the venture in Colombo and is expected to commence operations shortly. Prism Information Technology Services is a leading high-tech organisation in the Asia-Pacific region providing value added cutting-edge ICT solutions to create and sustain competitive advantage.

Their services are aimed at providing high-level strategic IT alignment with business goals as well as operational level effectiveness through innovative and efficient business solutions.

Prism solutions are based on 'real' business challenges that organizations face in today's competitive commercial environment. The venture successfully uses IT as an 'enabler' and develop s strategies to formulate efficient business frameworks for organizations.

The solutions ensure business continuity and remove unnecessary managerial tasks allowing the business to focus on its core competencies. Director of Prism Group Holdings (Private) Limited Sanjeewa Balasuriya said "PRISM Information Technology Services brings to its clients technical expertise in the areas of hosted and fully managed messaging services, disaster recovery planning, business strategy focused IT consultancy, data security, email services, document management, web hosting, information and communication technology (ICT) relocation services, maintenance of IT infrastructure and a full-range of other IT solutions".

Director of Prism Group Holdings (Private) Limited Nicholas Fraser said. "There is a high growth potential in Sri Lanka with the establishment of peace in the country.

More foreign investors will be investing in the country and we want to be pioneers as the country braces for investment". Describing the skill level of Sri Lankan IT Professionals Fraser said that Sri Lanka has a high level of well developed skill base which can be used for economic development.

Sanjeewa Balasuriya was of the view that usage of ICT for business strategies was not sufficient in Sri Lanka as well as the Asian region. He stressed on the importance of increasing usage of ICT for business strategies to formulate efficient business frameworks.
