Young Petes steal the show
Bandula NONIS
The Primary School Concert 2009 by young Petes was held at Nicholas
Perera Memorial Hall at St.Peters' College, recently under the patronage
of the College Rector Rev. Dr. Travis Gabriel, O. M. I.
The show was organized with the intention for the Primary Petes to
display their talents on stage before their friends and parents. Primary
Principal Rev. Rohita Rodrigo quoting John Lubbach said that as much as
the "Sun colours the flowers in nature, so does Art colour our life". It
trains the mind through the eyes which see the art that makes full
Happiness. Another objective of the talent show was to overcome stress
and fear for the young Petes and to learn to be spontaneous in Public
life said the Priest Primary Principal. The Programme starting from a
Poja Dance covered all branches of art, including drama, music and
dance.
The young Petes performed folk dances and a ballet to signify the
wonders of the four Seasons. The performance of 'Beta Kevo' was a
rehearsal of the great Maname feast by young Petes in honor of Prof.
Ediriweera Sarachandra where they proved their capacity to go for a
major Drama in the future. The performance was made by the year 4
Students.
It was a fine memorable evening with the young Petes proved that they
were moving for a better tomorrow. As much as they have proved their
Sports talent the Primary Concert proved their capacity for imagination
and criticism in unmeasurable levels. |
