Fire provokes perahera jumbo, two injured

Two persons were injured when an elephant parading in the Bellanwila Randoli Maha Perahera was provoked when a fire ball of a fire juggling acrobat touched it on Saturday. The injured were admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital and later discharged, Police said.

In another incident too, an elephant was provoked at the beginning of the perahera. It was treated immediately. The Bellanwila Esala Perahera concluded yesterday after the water cutting ceremony and an alms giving. Over 100,000 people thronged to view the perahera.
