Year 5 schol exam on Aug 23

The Year Five scholarship examination will be held on August 23 at 2,602 examination centres throughout the country.

A total of 294,802 candidates will sit the examination. Among them 224,818 are Sinhala medium students and the balance 69,984 are Tamil medium students.

Thirty five students who are housed in welfare villages in Vavuniya will also sit the year Five examination this year.

The examination will be monitored through 491 Examination Coordination Centres, an Examinations Department spokesman said. The examination consists of two papers.

The first paper is given 45 minutes while the second has one hour and 15 minutes, the spokesman said.

The exam starts at 9 a.m.
