Music to felicitate war heroes

Consider our valiant soldiers, the guardians of the nations who served the motherland proud. Some of whom are displaced and do not have a roof over their heads.

The ‘Sri Junior Star’ team

A musical extravaganza titled 'Sri Junior Star' will be organized in aid for a housing project to the valiant soldiers at John de Silva Memorial Hall on August 9 at 4 p.m.

Rohan Fonseka and his wife Dulani, now domiciled in France, are the Sponsors for this musical extravaganza. This children's musical orchestra consists of 18 French nationals who are of Sri Lankan parentage. They will sing and orchestrate music to the rhythms of original Sinhala songs.

Apart from these gifted children many renowned artistes from Sri Lanka will perform at this show too. Artistes like Pandith Amaradewa, Sunil Edirisinghe, Edward Jayakody, Jagath Wickramasinghe, Ranil Mallawarachchi, Lakshman Wijesekera, Surendra Perera, C. L. Fonseka, Mariazelle Gunatilake, Lilanthi Karunanayake, Chandani Hettiarachchi, Amila Nadeeshani, Sri Kanthi Perera, Rodney Warnakula, Nelu Adikari, Kapila Pugalaarachchi, Samitha Mudunkotuwa, Rohan Fernando, Child celebrity Himasha Dassanayake and Sudesh Somal Ediriweera will also perform. Incidentally Rohan Fonseka was a former member of SLBC and SLRC orchestra.

The choreography is by Kamala Bellantota with the music of Dimitri Fonseka, Ranga Livera, Nuwan Gamaarachchi, Denis Kalamulla, Anushka Fonseka, Suranga, Nissanka, Salitha Samarasuriya, Dilani Perera, Chathuni Kumarage, Watsala Galhenage while music of Nilushi Nissanka, Andria Silva, Shelula Fernando, Maurine Fernando, Shehona Fernando, Melissa Wickramarachchi, Osada Kiridiarachchige will add quality to this musical extravaganza.
