Sri Lanka beat Philippines

Sri Lanka overcome Philippines, and Maldives in the Asian Under 16 Junior Badminton Continental championships Team Championships (first round matches) at St. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia Badminton courts yesterday.

Sri Lanka beat Philippines in the boys Singles and boys Doubles 2-1, Omal Wishwanath and Lahiru Abeygoda played Singles and Omal Wishwanath/Damith Yatawara played Doubles.

Sri Lanka boys defeated Maldives by 3 points to Nil in the Singles and Doubles team events.

Chamika Karunaratne and Pamoda Hettiarachchi played for Sri Lanka Under 16 boys team.

Sri Lanka under 16 girls team (Achini Rathnasiri, Upuli Samanthika played Singles and Achini Rathnasiri and Umangi Ilangakoon girls Doubles) beat Philippines by 2 1.

Singapore beat Napal by 3-1, Chinese Taipei beat Iran 2-1, India overcome Maldives by 3-0 in the first round team championship matches yesterday.
