Seven LTTE boats found

Police recovered seven LTTE boats and engines left behind by Tiger cadres in Kadiraveli, Vakarai on Sunday.

Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said a special police team from Western Province and Kadirveli police have recovered seven boats and other equipment from a dense jungle in Vakarai on Sunday evening.

“The recovery has made following information provided by a senior Tiger cadre during interrogation. These boats were fixed with 200 HP engines which are capable of moving fast in the sea”, he added.

Police also recovered remote control devices and other equipment inside the LTTE boats.
