Seriously ill with virus:
A/H1N1 affected Jerusalem woman delivers baby
ISRAEL: A 38-year-old East Jerusalem woman in serious condition with
A/H1N1 virus successfully delivered a baby on Thursday, local news
service Ynet reported.
The woman, who is 30 weeks pregnant, is still listed in serious
condition, and her baby is said to be in no danger so far, said the
report.
She was sent to Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem
Wednesday night after being diagnosed with the virus.
The doctors decided to perform the surgery, considering the fetus may
be in danger.
While the recent conjecture suggests that pregnant women are more
susceptible to complications of the A/H1N1 flu, “it is too soon to
determine that every pregnant woman is at high risk of being infected,”
Dr. Yoram Weiss of Hadassah was quoted as saying.
