Isipatana go out favourites against Thurstan

Isipatana College will start favourites to beat their traditional rivals Thurstan College when the two teams clash in their annual inter school rugby encounter for the Abdul Jabbar Shield at the Royal College Sports Complex in Reid Avenue today.

Isipatana emerged runners up at the recent Milo Schools knock out tournament where they went down to S. Thomas' College Mount Lavinia 19-22 in a close encounter at the same venue.

In addition Isipatana clinched the Western Province seven a side tournament and also won the Zahira College Invitation seven a side tournament before finishing fifth in the President's Trophy 'A' division league tournament.

Last year Isipatana beat Thurstan College by a convincing margin of 29-10 after they had trailed 0-10 at half time.

Thurstan College of course participated in the 'B' division league tournament this season and secured the third place at the end.

In addition to the first fifteen game there will be matches in the under 12, 14 and 16 respectively. (C.D).
