Sri Lankan Junior Paddlers clinch four silver medals

Sri Lanka's Junior Table Tennis Players brought honour and fame to
their motherland by bagging four Silver Medals and seven Bronze Medals
in the South Asian Junior table Tenis Championships which concluded in
Jaipur, India, yesterday.
Team events:
Sri Lanka Cadet girls team, Junior Girls team and Cadet Boys team
clinched silver medals in the finals against India.
Sri Lanka Cadet girls team lost to India in the final by 3-2, India
beat Sri Lanka Junior girls team by 3-0 and India also overcome Sri
Lanka Cadet boys team by 3-1.
In the last team events match our junior boys team lost to India by
0-3 and won the Bronze Medal.
Individual Events:
Chathura Viskam (Junior Boys), Tharindra Weerakoon (Junior girls)
Dinsuha Manoji (Junior girls), A.M. Shashiranga (Cadet Boys) and E.
Warusawithane bagged Bronze Medals in the individual events Semi-finals.
Doubles
Dinusha Manoji and Tharindra Weerakoon won the Silver Medal in the
girls doubles final who lost to Indian girls by 3 points to 0 and
Chathura Viskam and Lakshitha Chathuranga bagged the Bronze Medal in the
Boys Doubles Semi-finals and they lost to Pakistan by 3-0.
Sri Lanka junior girls team, Cadet girls team and Cadet Boys team
qualified to take part in the 15th Asian Junior Table Tennis
Championships which will also be held in Jaipur, India.
