Buddhist talk
Dr. Kosala de Silva will deliver a public Buddhist talk in English on
'Benefits of Buddhism here and now' at a meeting of the Servants of the
Buddha Society on Saturday July 4 at 4.30 p.m. at Maitri Hall, Lauries
Road, Bambalapitiya.

Vas Aradhana Pinkama
People are invited to be present at the Gangaramaya at 7 pm on July 6
with two yards of white cloth for the Vesi Saluva and a tray of betel (dehet
vattiya) to invite the Maha Sangha of Gangaramaya to observe Vas.

Araliya Mal Puja
An Araliya Mal Puja organized by the Shanthi Padanama to invoke
blessings on the President, Armed Forces Chiefs, IGP, Civil Security
Department Director General and War Heroes for their contribution
towards wiping out terrorism and transfer merit on departed War Heroes
will be held at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on Saturday July 4 at 5
pm. This will be preceded by a Sil campaign and meditation program at 8
am on this day. Organizers said devotees wishing to assist this Pinkama
by supplying Araliya flowers should contact telephone 2699561 or
handover the flowers to the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya before 3 pm on
Saturday July 4.

Prayers
The program will commence on Sunday July 5 with Rathibathul Jalaliya
by Moulavi A.B.M. Mubarak (Falahi) and Y.M. Rafi. A religious lecture
will also be conducted by Ashsheikh Dr. P.C. Pakkeer Jaufar Ph.D. (Simon
Fraser, Canada) (Head/Department of Special Needs Education).

De Mazenodian Walk
The De Mazenod College Old Boys' Association is organizing the 'Mazenodian
Walk 2009' and musical evening as a fund-raiser for the proposed new
swimming pool project. This walk is scheduled for Saturday July 4 from 9
am from Welisara Nawaloka Ground to the College cricket ground at

Interbeats 2009
The Western Music Society of Gothami Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo 10 has
organised a musical extravaganza titled "Interbeats - 2009 to raise fund
for the development of College's senior western band on July 3 from 3.00
p.m. to 8.00 p.m. at Elphinstone Theatre.
The western music unit and the senior and junior western bands will
perform at this event. Western bands representing 10 schools will also
perform.
