NZ and India to play tri nation one-day series in Lanka

Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to announce that New Zealand and India has agreed to play a Tri Nation one day series during the latter part of the New Zealand tour to Sri Lanka.

This was agreed with the Chairman, Secretary, Board of Cricket Control in India and the Chief Executive, New Zealand Cricket at the discussions held with the Chairman and Secretary of SLC during their visit to the UK. SLC would like to express its appreciation to the officials of BCCI for agreeing on an unscheduled tour, which would add an additional commercial benefit to the stakeholders of SLC moreover a viewing pleasure to the cricket loving public in Sri Lanka.

Champions League T/20

Sri Lanka Cricket has accrued an invitation from BCCI to take part in the Champions League T/20, which will be held in India from October 8-23, 2009. This will be a great opportunity to the local provincial teams to gain more exposure by playing with champions representing other countries.

Sri Lanka will be represented by Wayamba Provincial team consists of a strong outfit headed by Jehan Mubarak along with former national team captain Mahela Jayawardena, Jeevantha Kulatunga, Mahela Udawatta, Ajantha Mendis, Farveez Maharoof to name a few.
