ITC MLS IPSCM Global Roundtable Meeting

Organized by (ITC) in Montreux, Switzerland:

The International Trade Centre (ITC) held its MLS IPSCM Global Roundtable Meeting recently in Monteux, Switzerland where 41 network partner institutions participated. It was hosted by ITC with the support of the Government of Switzerland.

President, ISMM, Chandima Jayathilaka and MLS Trainer/Council Member ISMM, I.G. Perera, Consultant ITC/Council Member ISMM Lt (S) Priyangani Jayasundara and Senior Manager (Supplies), People's Bank/Diploma student of ITC MLS IPSCM course TMW Chandrakumara attended the event representing ISMM Sri Lanka.

A special feature of this event was the ITC conducted competition on 'Best success stories' for MLS IPSCM candidates.

The main objective of this competition was to recognise the practical approach and application of the SCM best practices in their workplace and its outcome.

Winners were offered the opportunity to attend the Global Roundtable event free in order to gain an international exposure and enhance their knowledge and share experiences on the best practice of IPSCM.

TMW Chandrakumara was one of the winners of the best success story competition. Management Trainee from South Asia Gateway Terminals (Pvt.) Ltd and student of ITC MLS IPSCM Certificate course Visuddha Piyathilake also has been recognized for his efforts and the value of his achievements in this competition and has been exempted from paying examinations fees for six Modules of MLS-IPSCM exams during 2009.

The International Trade Centre (ITC) based in Geneva, Switzerland is offering Modular Learning System (MLS) in International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (IPSCM) courses in three stages such as MLS IPSCM Certificate Course, MLS IPSCM Advanced Certificate and MLS IPSCM Diploma.

ITC has over 55 member countries conducting courses in Asia, Latin America and Africa.

The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) in Sri Lanka is the only Institution which offers these courses in Sri Lanka.
