Dengue deaths top 122

The number of dengue deaths has risen to 122 by yesterday while the number of patients have exceeded 8,500.

The Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry also issued 486 warnings to residents in Colombo by yesterday, a Ministry spokesman said.

He said the Ministry has upto date issued 486 warnings to residents in Colombo who have mosquito breeding sites within their properties.

Many people had 'mosquito breeding grounds' in their homes and gardens.

The dengue control program will cover Kandy and Gampaha districts on June 13 and 14.

The Ministry along with Civil Defence Committees, Police, Grama Niladharies and officials will conduct awareness raising programs on June 13.
